    FAQ's

Q: What is an NFSI Certification?

A: These products have been tested by the National Floor Safety Institute per the NFSI 101-C Test Method and have passed the NFSI “High-Traction” standard.

Q: What are the benefits of using anti-fatigue floor mats?

A: Anti-fatigue mats are designed to offer a wide range of benefits to employees and employers. Anti-Fatigue floor mats can increase worker productivity, reduce slips, trips and falls and improve the overall health of your employees.

Q: How do anti-fatigue mats improve overall health of my employees?

A: Standing long-term, especially on hard, unforgiving concrete leads to lower back pain, swelling of joints and poor circulation that can lead to varicose veins. Standing on anti-fatigue matting allows for continuous muscle movement which leads to increased blood flow to the legs, feet and back. Continuous blood circulation reduces fatigue, alleviates back pain and reduces swelling.

Q: How do anti-fatigue mats increase employee productivity?

A: Fatigue eventually leads to lack of focus and concentration on the task at hand. Anti-fatigue mats reduce worker fatigue allowing them to remain focused on the job at hand.

Q: How long will this mat last?

A: The life expectancy of the mats will vary based on several factors: the number of shifts per day, the amount of foot traffic and the environment it is being used in. Under typical working conditions and customer buying history this product typically lasts about 3-5 years. You may experience different results depending on your specific application. We’d be happy to conduct a FREE Site Survey! to help you choose the product that best suits your specific needs.

Q: Can these mats be exposed to liquids?

A: The mats were designed to be placed in dry work centers or work centers with minimal overspray. The sponge on the underside of your mat can absorb fluids it comes in contact with causing the mat to wear out prematurely.

Q: How do I clean my mat?

A: Sweep regularly or dry-mop the surface. These mats can be wet-mopped with mild soap or detergent. For best results, use a detergent with a pH between 4 and 9.

Q: Can I cut or modify my mat?

A: We do not recommend that you cut or modify your mat in any way. In fact, cutting the mat yourself will void the warranty. We offer our matting in 1ft cut lengths so you can order any length of matting that you need. We also customise matting if you require a unique shape or configuration.

Q: There 2 sides to my mat. Which side do I stand on?

A: The top side of the mat is the side with the marbled surface pattern. The Sponge side of the mat touches the floor.

Q: I just took my mat out of the box and laid it on the floor and the edges aren’t lying flat.

A: Please allow the mat to acclimate to the environment for 24-48 hours. Once it has acclimated the edges will lay flat.

Q: Can you customise a mat to my specific requirements?

A: Yes we can. We offer 3 types of customisation:

    • C1- Custom lengths
    • C2- Custom lengths and widths
    • C3- Fully custom (size & shape)

The level of customisation by product is on the details tab at the bottom of every product page.

Q: Are the colours shown on your website the exact colour I should expect to receive?

A: No, because monitors vary so there may be a slight variance in the colour. If colour choice is critical, we suggest that you order a sample. Due to manufacturing processes and material dye lots, colour can vary, but our products fall within an industry-standard acceptable variation.

Q: Do your mats pose a tripping hazard?

A: All of our mats are machined beveled (sloped edge) on all four sides. This allows for a smooth transition on and off the mat and do not pose a tripping hazard.

Q: Why is the sponge on my mat green?

A: The matting was designed for labs, pharmacies, biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The green sponge indicates that it is anti-microbial.
